Still stuck in tiny room.

But we shut the door and close the ward curtains and open the outside ones and put Some Better off Ted on Anyanka and [livejournal.com profile] torasin putters about on his eePC, plotting away with his brewing software while I play about with my iPhone and we putter and natter and spend mmee time together and snatch back our little part of the world.

Fuck you. We win.

And you have to see this. )

The wedding was quite good, and the alcohol was plentiful. Had a good time (one nasty occasion when I had a temp spike notwithstanding) Much luck and love to Cad and Chich, the disgustingly attractive couple that they are (AND REMEMBER CAD, SHE WAS MINE FIRST )

Unfortunately Beans did not have so well of a night, and actually choked on some of her noodles shortly after we got home. I ended up spending most of the night sitting up with her, helping her clear her airways and cough up the crap, then sacking with her until some time around 6am. Then I kinda half fell asleep, then [livejournal.com profile] torasin was poking at me and breathing beer fumes in my face. fgn.

Beans has broken an upper incisor at some point - if she does still have issues eating, I'm considering taking her to the vet to get the other one trimmed slightly so there's not as much disparity. It should make things much easier for her, at least. Concerns with that are that she is so fussy and weak at the moment it may over stress her

Yeah. She's not doing too well. Really not doing too well.

Not too happy at the moment. Kinda blank. Need distraction.

Because I deserve spoiling, dammit.

hit chaddy, got fuds, and some fud-fixin's (because I can actually get near the stove, it's not covered in SHIT any more, and won't be until Jac gets back) to cook up some meals, and dipped in JB

JB must have seen me coming. They had shitloads of stuff I actually wanted. As in wanted, and had been looking for for a while. So I picked up Black Books: Collectors Edition (and I know a certain [livejournal.com profile] belle_bing who is no doubt squealing right now 'cos she knows what that means :D) , The Two Doctors, Tomb of the Cybermen (they actually had more than just the new series and fuckin' claws of axos!! *shock* ) and YES! SCORE a copy of the 1930's film Freaks

Also picked up a book on D-Day for $6. SCOOOOOOOOORE once more ^_^
Me = teh happy

This should be interesting...

Thursday ~ Friday - Normal weekly canoodlings with [livejournal.com profile] torasin

Friday Night - Work

Saturday Night - VNV Nation Concert with [livejournal.com profile] torasin, drinking, and if I have my way, plenty more carnal indulgence :)

Sunday day - Father's day, more [livejournal.com profile] torasincanoodlings

Sunday Night - Work (With The Yank)

Monday Night - Work (With The Yank)

Tusday - most likely family invasion for my 27th. Definitely a Trevor Invasion.

(for those of you just tuning in that think night work doesn't sound too bad - it's Graveyard. 11pm-8am. With about two hours travel time either way)

Now, where can I fit sleep in....and at least an hour a day for the rats to be let loose to roam (except Fridays, but they know this)

I really should just make a seperate tag for The Yank. Much like the Chronicles of George, or Enter the Cow-orker....

In other news, Rats apparently dislike dutch carrots. They do however, like diving into the fishtank and swimming about, then leaving soggy little footprints all over mummy's doona, mummy's pillows, mummy's bookcase, mummy's washing hanging out to dry, mummy's couch and Mummy herself

And a joke. Because it amused me! )

I've been quiet...

too quiet...

Actually, I've just been working and doing nothing in particular. My highlight of the week has been the foot gloves I bought on Tuesday. Still looking for a local place that sells slipper socks though...

The Princessess were not happy that they didn't get their early morning extended roam-around when I got home this morning. 1) I was absolutely buggered due to shite sleep on saturday, and 2) I wanted to get to bed early because [livejournal.com profile] moonmip was puttering over later on.

So they got a brief roam-about whilst I scoffed down some fuds, then were unceremoniously stuffed back in their cage. I managed to deflect their rage with some cooked chicken pieces though - they fuckin' love 'em :) They kept the pleading paws fishing through and clinging longingly to the cage and the beseeching faces to a minimum when presented with this treat. Bless their furry little hearts, they've learned that while mummy on top of the doona cover means she may be convinced to let them roam about, when mummy gets under the covers, that's their cue to quiet down.

At least until I start snoring. Then they can make as much noise as they like!

[livejournal.com profile] moonmip wandered over after annoying the parental units to talk computers (codecs, specifically, [livejournal.com profile] mrsqueeze, you might want to poke her in regards to Xvid and DivX codecs. Hell, baste, sautee and fry her too if you like, I've had no luck finding Xvid codecs for MacOS. ) pick up her long-repaired fridge, a surprise pair of socks I got her, and to coo over the babies as they got their long-awaited roaming. Onion stuck very close to me - I know I shouldn't baby her paranoia of people, but to be honest, whilst she's ok in small groups, there were too many strangers to her about to risk her doing kamikaze dives from strange hands and bolting under the couch. It was also pointed out the ratties will need a bigger cage soon - something I'm already working towards. In the interim, I'm planning on putting little shelves in their existing cage to give more floors for them to roam on.

After the invasion was over, and with the lingering traces of [livejournal.com profile] moonmip's allergy-induced snot trailing about the house, I puttered back to bed for a quick cat-nap before being awakened by the always gorgeous [livejournal.com profile] torasin with a reminder I have work tonight.

Oddly enough, despite only getting about 4 hours sleep, I sure as hell am a lot more awake than I was last night!

Although my face is red and blotchy from the freakin' windburn I got in this morning's sub-artic wind.

So, yes. Haven't been doing much exciting stuff. Must correct that. I've still got about a bazillion DVD's to burn and post all over the planet, in addition to the surprise present for [livejournal.com profile] madscot and OH, and there's that DVD-case I need to build......

oh, and according to my mother, I'm skin and bone. But she's been saying that for about 20 years. Thoughts, anyone? *eats when hungry*

I'm heeeeere!

The babies are spoiled. Spoiled rotten!

Had an annoying fever last night, so didn't sleep well. And neither did [livejournal.com profile] torasin, because apparenly I made a determined sprawl for the entire bed that he could not defeat. (Serves him right for sleeping on MY side! ha!)

God up at around 5am, puttered and farted about. Toddled back at around 9am, and both of us got in some good solid sleeps until 2pm. *bliss*

CJ joined us in our meanderings as we wandered over to Mount Waverley to pick up some more disks for [livejournal.com profile] torasin's dremel, not bad at all - $16 for 36 of the fuckers. Grabbed some lamb and chips, and spent a good 10-20 minutes browsing through the pet store for rat toys. Finally settled on a rope drape for them to clamber over, and some more perch poles. They still don't trust the rope yet, and get far more fun out of the toilet paper roll :P

Puttered back, cleaned out the rat cage and gave them their new toys (and they went hypercrazy) then HoseBeast took CJ to his karate lesson, [livejournal.com profile] torasin hid in my room with the rats, and I made all manner of horrible screeching noises and burning smells cutting the last parts of Meshuggah. Then I gave her the final lick of paint, watched some more scrubs, and then put her together, crossed fingers and hit the switch.

WE HAVE LIFTOFF!!

[livejournal.com profile] torasin walked me through installing Slackware on her, and then looked rather puzzled when we couldn't access any pages. Cue me headdesking and entering the DNS servers into the config, whilst rats scurry over our shoulders and across the keyboard. YAY!

She's up and running! Look! :D

I'm still working out the Vhosts and FTP accessess and home directories - my only experience with the back end of Apache is restarting it when it fucks up at work, so this is going to be fun. Still, there are some co-workers I can poke with forks, and it's all a learning experience :)

*points rats at monitor*

Well, has been a mixed weekend.

The weekend with [livejournal.com profile] torasin itself was great, but I was coming down from 3 weeks of fucking madass shifts, so there were signs of conflict.... arghhh

[livejournal.com profile] madscot, there appears to be a brown paper package from you! EEEEEE! *cuddles it happily* I shall send yours along shortly, along with other stuffs I need to post about, but there's a slight delay since I'm on my "poor" week at the end of the month (Wherein various bills arrive) and a gas bill was waiting for me. Gnarg.

Things to do....

* repair [livejournal.com profile] moonmip's refridgerator for her (Bug, you can come pick it up anytime you like)
* Clean office
* Assload of washing
* Burn various DVDs for about 15 people
* Catch up on 8 billion LJ posts
* Start the final physical mods on Meshuggah to take M00fmeister's old motherboard

SLOB!

*faffs about happily*

Went shopping. Again. JAc was off work due to whiplash from getting rear ended so we wandered over.

Went shopping for Doctor Who DVDs, but they didn't have any of the ones I fucking wanted -_- No matter, I shall go back in about a month after the ABC has started showing the new series and clean up on the renewed interest :D

Picked up The end of Evangelion for NINE FREAKING BUCKS, BABY! *dances* also snaffled Eric the Viking (another one I must show [livejournal.com profile] torasin) and tomb raider 1&2 doe $10. Eh, they're good at that price :)

EB was having a massive games blowout, so I eked out $60 and got the third Harry Potter game, a sixpack of games, and a copy of Elite. And some blank DVDs, 'cos I have a lot of stuff to...back up...
