Ok, I may well wake up tomorrow and go "what the fuck" and I have gotten little sleep and have been digging about in rubbish all day, and I'm about to crash so I can't be arsed watching the eps again atm but....

Did they ever actually refer to the bad guys as "the silence"? In the actual episodes, as opposed to fanon.

Because....



- Amy is told "You will bring the silence" She is also told "you have been here for days" (neither confirmed nor denied)
- The amazing disappearing/reappearing pregnancy

What if the bad guys weren't The Silence. But the antagonists in IA/DotM were actually just its buttmonkeys? And what if they knocked Amy up/fucked with the pregnancy during those days?

The TARDIS is sentient. Fact. The bad guys in the season opener are adept at perception filtering. Fact. What if.......

Yeah, they did, unfortunately. When the Doctor is talking to that one in DotM, it said, "We are the Silents/Silence" and there was a nice flashback to last season.

...Hmm. Maybe Silents is different to Silence?
