stoles it from everyone!

01. Do I have a distinct style of writing?
02. If so, what exactly is it that defines my style?
03. Would you say my stories follow a certain theme?
04. Is there anything you feel I ought to improve or change?
05. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of anyone else?
06. Judging from whatever writing of mine that you've seen, what do you think is/are my strength(s)?
07. What do you think are my weaknesses?

Feel free to pick and choose which ones to answer, if you don't want to answer them all. Be vicious! As [livejournal.com profile] madscot, and to a lesser extent [livejournal.com profile] uktechgirl can tell you - you cannot possibly be nastier to me than I am to myself.

And like the aforementioned [livejournal.com profile] uktechgirl,

01. Do I have a distinct style of writing?
Yes. Well, I can claim that, but then agaibn, you always instantly recognise your own work. So it's a bit of a no-brainer there and of no consequence to the wider world :P

02. If so, what exactly is it that defines my style?
Very few people have seemed to have picked this up... but what the hell. MY BIG BAD SECRET!
I write stuff to be read aloud, pretty much. My sentence structure, the emphasis and dramatics follow the cadences of human speech.

And I can be incredibly, exceedingly irreverent :D

03. Would you say my stories follow a certain theme?
They do. I write mostly very "visceral" (to quote [livejournal.com profile] uktechgirl) stuff. The written word in a fictional sense is to entertain, yes, but it's also to invoke a passion, to invoke thought. To take you out of one world and place you completely into another. I go for the gut more often than not.

04. Is there anything you feel I ought to improve or change?
Lots of things. I'm shash :D

05. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of anyone else?
Some of my nastier stuff - especially when I write horror - I freely admit is very strongly influenced by Stephen King. The man may write schlock at times, but back in the days of his drugs and booze (The Stand, IT, Night Shift, Skeleton Crew...) he was a wordsmith beyond par.

06. Judging from whatever writing of mine that you've seen, what do you think is/are my strength(s)?
I apparently have the ability to drop people headfirst into my vicious little scenarios. Meh heh heh.

07. What do you think are my weaknesses?
I'm shash? I tend to overthink. And I'm crap at plot.
