taleya: (Iron Man - places to go)
Busy indeed!

Didn't get the letterbox fixed, but I did...

- Finish sealing the front porch
- Edge the front lawn
- Mattock down , tear out and redo the strip down the driveway (with thanks to the lovely lovely [livejournal.com profile] torasin for his assistance)
- Pull and clean the rest of the pool cushions
- Sand down half the rails (Well, [livejournal.com profile] torasin did most)
- Cut out the rot and Builders Bog the latch hole in the gate. (I love this stuff. Works on anything and it's like putty with balls)

And that was Friday :D

Today...

- Cleaned the rat cage (so they didn't end up covered in gack...and O, What a Glorious Playtime it was today!)
- Did the washing
- Repaired the metal watering can
- Dremmeled and cleaned out the latch mechanism for the gate.
- Spraypainted it gold for a lovely brassy look (and somehow managed to perfectly paint my left thumbnail gold)
- Pre-worked and measured the gate for new cross pieces and complete repair
- Planted more Kikuyu and watered it all down with recycled washing machine water
- Helped Mqhele build his decking for his rainwater tank

I feel very much accomplished ^_^ Tomorrow is finishing off the last of the pool table, so we can head down to Bunnings later in the week and pick up the stain and sealant and with luck, by weekend after next WE WILL BE DONE AND PLAYING ON IT. Of course by next weekend WE WILL HAVE A GATE THAT FUCKING WELL WORKS, so I'm not quite sure which one I'm more excited about.

*shoots balls into imaginary pockets*

We also found a 7 ball in one of the dead woolly pockets, and I have a snooker ball lying about somewhere, so I'm planning on handing them both to [livejournal.com profile] torasin so he can play with his shiny new graphite cue :D Still gotta get a case for mine, but god damn, I love it. Nice and heavy and maple, so if I hit you with it, you'll damn well feel it.
