Bubbles got her first (heavily supervised) playtime with the big girls today!

In related news: Missy has a new bitch.

Oh the things that were sniffed! Oh the rapid pattering of tiny little babyfeets weaving in and out the giant serene furry icebergs of PEWS! Oh the foofing and the sniffing and the squeaking and the pinning, and the Bubbles being a royal shit and repeatedly running up to Missy "BWahhaha *BAP* RUNAWAAAY" and Missy shoving her headfirst into a litter box and the general interactions of ratly socialism.

Boots and Pug are still too small - Boots at this point is roughly the size Bubbles was when we got her. Pug is gradually approaching Boots-obtainment size, lending further credence to my belief that not only is she a different litter, she was literally barely weaned when thrust into a tank -_- So those two are busy sniffing Bubbles every time she gets back and reading various tribal scentmarks and while they have been introduced to the PEWS (on neutral ground, with both parties firmly in hand) and are aware of them, they're not quite up to the standards of full on romps.

So we're using Bubbles as a bridge. She plays with the Ladies, then goes back home to the other babies, which not only gradually integrates the pack (a must given Pug's tiny size, Pinky's occasional bad temper and Missy's habit of biting everything she comes across for the sheer hell of it) but also makes her more confident and establishes her place in the pecking order - which then passes through to the other two when they're brought into the tribe proper.

At the moment Bubbles is stomping about the "sick cage" (normally used for sick rats, pressed into service since it's got smaller bars than the quarantine cage - which we found out Pug can fit through!) and telling many tales of the Great White Elders. Bossy Boots and Lady Pugglesworth, for their part, are transfixed with awe.

Well no, they're flinging rice bubbles at each other, but the thought counts.
