This has been denoted the week of Getting Shit Done. As in all the little projects we have floating about and the "ahh gotta do XXX"
Well this week it gets done!
Albeit without spending any more money (we have a list of thingies we will need to purchase at a later date as needed)
To this end, I’ve already done the house over, done the buky washing (couch covers, etc) cut, remade, sewed (and as
siamesegoth2 can attest that was a cunt) grommeted and and hung the solar shade properly over the BBQ area. We now have another lovely area to sit and wiffle and not get ZOMFG I’M BUUUUUUUUUUUUUURNINGGG. Also did the one to go over the western bedroom window to cut the glare and heat in the afternoon.
torasin has also gone through and removed the dead screws, rehung and set up the clotheslines in the carport properly, with the added bonus of carabine hooks so we can unsnap them and move them out of the way when partying or pooling, while I notched and secured the palings in the base of the planter that I’m turning into storage seating and put all the paint stuff away in it.
And started on the pool table
Giving it a look over, the damage is a lot less than we thought when we snagged it. We could knock this off in a weekend when we have the parts.
torasin wants to sand back and restain the rails so they look purty, and we need to put a new base on it (and legs!) and refelt,(the cushions are in good condition, so we don’t need to touch those) plus we want better pockets so it’s an actual decent playable table (And of course we need a heavy duty cover for it!). Then it shall be pool parties ahoy-hoy! But for the moment we’ve gotten it in a place where we can work on it, taken the pocket holders off and made a start on the rails. These are going to be the bitchiest part as some dickhead some time in the past evidently made a few "repairs" and either didn’t know or didn’t care what they were doing. We have on one side countersunk screws with plugs above them, and on the other there’s a collection of overtightened flathead screws, phillips screws...and a fucking car bolt.
o.O
We’re gonna need a bigger can of WD-40.
But ebay is bringing much joy to us as I sniffle through for parts and pieces, and as an added bonus I managed to order a WiiFit from JB for $139 for
torasin. He’s a happy happy boy at the moment :)
