Reformatted the old mp3 box that we're flogging off at the garage sale, reinstalled DOS 6.2.2 and repaired Reliant, absent-mindedly poking Fred with a stick and plotting coloc sites with prospective employer. Ain't life grand.


* for all you little children out there looking confused, once upon a time computers ran PCI and VGA instead of PCI-Express. ISA predates both of these. By a loooong shot. Probably about five years before you were conceived.

Ugh. Hot spell at the moment. Not too horrible, but enough for you to feel it.

Temp in my office is sitting almost at par with the outside. This is a Not Good thing. The babies are happily sacked out with a fan, some cucumber and some half-frozen melon chunks, but if this is the way it's going to be since the possum infestation raped the shit outta the insulation, then on 40+ days, I'ma gonna need a laptop so I don't end up overheating myself or my kit. (For those of you unaware, the house has no aircon. We have a portable unit for torasin and the ratties, that lives in the bedroom) Thankfully it's not hot enough to put anyone in danger yet, and tomorrow is slated for a cool change, so we don't have to worry about having to break quarantine to stop furballs melting. Gonna put up the shadecloth this weekend too, as the house tends to get hottest during the afternoon, when the western sun bakes the living shit out of the side of the house containing the Man Room, bedroom, and both our offices, and make moves towards that whirlygig to get some better airflow into the attic space above the bedroom so the aircon won't need to run as often *cross fingers*

Thankfully it's not gonna bite me too bad from nosing about swap meets and ebay since Gibbers departed - I don't need an uber swishy swanky bells and whistles beastie - fuck, another Satellite 200 running win 98 will do. I just need something can can run decently, and tend to VNC into m00f for anything that requires serious processing power (the whole house is networked) , so a 1.6ghz system should do quite nicely. Time to hit yon swap meet... unless anyone knows any deals at the moment? :P
